The goal of low vision services
The primary goal of low vision rehabilitation, delivered through low vision services, is to reduce the visual disability experienced by the individual when the permanent visual impairment cannot be corrected through spectacles, contact lenses, or surgical procedures.

Call to book an Initial Consultation
Contact us to book your first appointment and discuss your vision needs. This appointment is in the form of a telemedicine appointment with Dr. Camorlinga.

In-Person Low vision Assessment
This appointment takes place in-clinic, and includes an extended evaluation of visual function, review of goals, and visual aid device training. Expect for this appointment to be 60-120 minutes in duration.

Individuals who have a visual impairment that affects their ability to perform daily tasks, such as reading, writing, or similar activities.
What types of devices are available?
We offer a variety of devices. The low vision aids available at our clinic are from select brands, including Humanware and
Eschenbach. We offer training for all devices that we carry.
How do I schedule an assessment?
Call our office to book your appointment. The first step will be to have a telemedicine appointment with Dr. Camorlinga to determine candidacy and goals.
Are these services covered by insurance?
Certain services and devices may be covered by private insurance, however they often are not covered. You must reach out to your private insurance provider for specific details of your plan.
What should I expect during my first visit?
The first appointment will be a telemedicine appointment with Dr. Camorlinga. After this, an in-person appointment will include an extended evaluation of visual function, review of goals, and visual aid device training.
How do I know if I need a low Vision Assessment?
Low Vision Assessments are recommended on an as-needed basis, requested by the patient, or referred by the patient’s primary eye care provider.

The goal of our low vision services is not to restore sight, but rather to reduce the visual disability experienced by the individual.
